Dance Series 2 (Presented by Smuin Contemporary Ballet)

  • Blue Shield of California Theater at YBCA 700 Howard Street San Francisco, CA, 94103 United States (map)

A white man stands against a spotlight and a purple background holding a microphone and pretending to sing in the style of Elvis Presley.

Dance Series 2 closes out Smuin’s 30th anniversary. Annabelle Lopez Ochoa takes inspiration from the life of Elvis in Tupelo Tornado, a world premiere. Amy Seiwert’s Broken Open, which the San Francisco Chronicle called “fresh, challenging, and relevant” at its premiere, returns, as well as Smuin Artist Brennan Wall’s Untwine. Michael Smuin’s Starshadows, a dreamy piece for three couples to a Ravel score and one of his earliest works for the Company, completes the program.

This is an ADA-accessible venue.
