a male and female dancer strike a pose together. She balances on pointe, holding onto his arm, one leg extended into the air. He leans towards her; their eyes are connect. They are placed in a blue frame.
Fresh from a commission with the Paris Opera Ballet, My’Kal Stromile makes his West Coast debut with a world premiere. Amy Seiwert’s French Kiss, a color confection hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “sweet, chic dessert,” returns to delight audiences once more. As we mark twenty years since Michael Smuin’s passing, we honor his lasting influence with a revival of his moving Stabat Mater, returning to the stage for the first time since 2016. (Each Audio Described performance is preceded by a Haptic Access Tour that begins at 12:45 pm. Patrons are requested to gather in the lobby by 12:30 pm for a 15-minute live pre-show tour that allows patrons to experience—through touch and their own movement— the space, performers, costumes, and objects in addition to key movement elements in the performance.)
